Welcome message from Chairperson, Organizing Committee TSB2018
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is a great pleasure to extend you a warm invitation to attend the 30 th Annual Meeting of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and International Conference (TSB 2018), which will be held during November 22-23, 2018 at the Ambassador Hotel, Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand.
This time, the theme of the conference is "Bridging Research and Society's Needs”. With the global population exponentially increasing, and the resources rapidly dwindling, traditional methods for food, medicine, and fuel production will soon be incapable of sustaining our livelihood. There is never a better time to ask ourselves: how can we use biotechnology to close the enlarging gap between nature’s supply and society’s demand? To this end, TSB 2018 is intended to raise awareness and stimulate discussions among participants, so that we can take one step closer toward answering this critical question.
Jointly organized by the Thai Society for Biotechnology (TSB) and the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University (MU), the 2018 Conference will cover topics in cutting-edge research—including Agricultural & Environmental Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, Food Biotechnology and Food Safety, Biotransformation and Bioprocess Engineering, Microbiology and Microbiome Research, Biomarkers and Stem Cell Therapeutics, Chemical and Synthetic Biology, Biopharmaceuticals and Medical Biotechnology
To inspire collaborations between individuals from diverse professional backgrounds, this conference will strive to offer you plenty of opportunities to engage with experts and visionaries working in the forefront of the fields, including 8 Keynote Speakers, 18 Invited Speakers, 80 Oral Presentations, 30 Short-talk Presenters, 160 Poster Presentations. In addition, we have arranged for special sessions on Thailand-Japan Joint Seminar, Thailand-Taiwan Joint Seminar to foster research network and regional collaborations. Workshop-TCELs, Workshop-Stem Cell and Partnership Opportunities are also set up to facilitate knowledge transfer from research to industry.
We sincerely hope that this conference will enable participants to learn and exchange their experiences and resources. And for the young scientists, we hope that this conference will help inspire you to perform impactful research on biotechnology and lend your strengths to answering the needs of the society.
With best wishes,
Assistant Professor Dr. Siripong Thitamadee
